Does the WiFi Dash Cam Pro® need an internet connection, and how does the Wifi work?
No. The WiFi Dash Cam Pro® generates its own Wi-Fi signal to connect with your smartphone to download image and video files. It does not allow you to connect to the internet.
How do I pair the WiFi Dash Cam Pro® to my phone?
Download the “Goplus” app to your smartphone. Press the “UP” arrow with the “Wi-Fi” icon on the side of the dash cam. The “Wi-Fi” icon will appear on the dash cam screen. Look for the Dash Cam network on your smartphone’s wifi network screen and select it. Enter the password “12345”. Open the Goplus app on your smartphone and select the “Wi-Fi” icon on the home screen. You’re connected.
How do I mount or install the WiFi Dash Cam Pro® in my car?
Use the suction cup mount on the windshield and an adjustable clamp mount on the neck of the rearview mirror.
Does this WiFi Dash Cam Pro® need an active internet connection?
No. The WiFi Dash Cam Pro® generates its own Wi-Fi signal to connect with your smartphone to download image and video files. It does not allow you to connect to the internet.
What does auto-ignition recording mean, and how does it work?
When the car is started, the W-Fi Dash Cam will turn on (if plugged in) and automatically begin recording.
I have paired my WiFi Dash Cam Pro® to the phone with WiFi, but when I go to the app screen and touch the icon, I do not see the live video screen.
Make sure the WiFi Dash Cam Pro® is plugged into power. Turn the dash cam on with the power button. When you see the Goplus icon on your list of apps, select it. When you see a blue home screen with a wifi icon in the top center, select that icon. You should be able to see a live feed from your dash cam.
How can I connect the micro SD card to my computer or laptop?
Remove the micro SD card from the WDCP and insert it into the micro SD card reader. Plug the micro SD card reader into the USB port of your computer or laptop.
My phone detects a Bug when paired with WiFi Dash Cam Pro® and I am unable to connect the WiFi Dash Cam Pro® with my phone.
Use the reset tool to push the reset button on the dash cam. Repeat the steps to connect to the WDCP wifi signal to your smartphone. Delete and re-install the “Goplus” app on your phone if necessary.
Can I get all the recordings on my phone and where?
When you connect to the WDCP Wi-Fi signal, you can download your recordings to your smartphone and save them as video or image files to your photo file folder.
How long will the battery backup last once fully charged?
About 30 minutes on a full charge. The battery will maintain a full charge when the charging cord is connected to the accessory jack. Thirty minutes is more than enough time to download files to your smartphone. The dash cam can also power up if the unit detects motion while in parking mode, which will turn the camera on to record another car making accidental contact with your vehicle.
How can I change the language?
Select the “M” button for “Menus” and look for the language selection menu. Scroll through the options and select the language of your choice. Press the “OK” button to confirm the selection.
What is the recording capacity with a 8/16/32 GB SD card?
It depends on the resolution the user selected. The higher the resolution, the lower the recording time and number of files. The lower the resolution, the higher the recording time and increased amount of files.
How do I reset the WiFi Dash Cam Pro®?
Use the reset pin and insert the tip into the hole on the bottom of the Dash Cam. Press the microswitch and restart the WiFi Dash Cam Pro®.
The WiFi Dash Cam Pro® is supposed to record in loops but has stopped recording in loops, showing the SD card is full.
Be sure to use an empty SD card. Use a larger capacity SD card like a 32 GB card. Download any recorded segments to free up space.
Does it come with an SD card?
Yes! Each WiFi Dash Cam Pro® comes with one 16GB SD card.
Does the WiFi Dash Cam Pro® need a Bluetooth connection to work on a phone?
No. A smartphone picks up a Wi-Fi signal from the dash cam. No Bluetooth signal is required.
How long will the WiFi Dash Cam Pro® stay on when my car is turned off?
Thirty minutes after the battery has been fully charged by being plugged into the car.
Does the WiFi Dash Cam Pro® record sound?
The WiFi Dash Cam Pro® can record sound. You can also turn off this feature in the sound menu settings.
Does the WiFi Dash Cam Pro® come with a cord?
The WiFi Dash Cam Pro® comes with a 15’-0” cord and five wire management clips to tuck your wire out of sight.
Can I see a live video feed from my WiFi Dash Cam Pro®
Yes. The Dash Cam must have the screen saver feature turned off so the camera stays active for the length of the battery charge. You can see the video feed within 15 feet of the built-in Wi-Fi signal range.
Is there another way to transfer files without using the built-in Wi-Fi Signal?
Remove the micro SD card and plug it into the included card reader. Plug that into a USB port on your computer and download the files.
